Dining Plans!!!

Kent State University Dining Services is proud to offer various dining plans to suit your needs. Your dining plan is an essential part of the Kent State experience. Our plans operate on a declining balance system. This means you are able to use your dining plan how you want, when and where you want to. Everything is priced individually, so you pay for exactly what you’re getting. 

Dining dollars are the university currency provided through your dining plan used exclusively at more than 20 locations. The amount of dining dollars you receive depends on the dining plan you select. Your dining dollars are used to purchase meals and snacks at on campus locations.

Lite Plan - $1,750*

The Lite Plan is designed for the student with a light appetite – someone who gets by on less food than most or who frequents home on the weekends. 

This plan entitles students to a 10% bonus when additional money is added to top off the plan. Remaining funds on this plan at the end of the fall semester will roll over to the spring, however that money will not roll over the summer. At the end of the spring semester, any money left in a student's account will default back to the university. Refunds are not issued for unused dining dollars.

Basic Plan - $1,900*

The "right plan" for first year students! Don’t always eat breakfast but enjoy a late night snack? Then this plan is for you! Known as the ideal plan for most students on campus, the Basic Plan is a great starter plan for incoming Kent State students as well as returning!

This plan entitles students to a 10% bonus when additional money is added to top off the plan. Remaining funds on this plan at the end of the fall semester will roll over to the spring, however that money will not roll over the summer. At the end of the spring semester, any money left in a student's account will default back to the university. Refunds are not issued for unused dining dollars.

Premier Plan - $2,235*

PLUS an extra $50 sign-on bonus! This plan is for students who plan to eat and live on campus most of the time but who may not snack as much as their Premier Plus friends.

This plan entitles students to a 20% bonus when additional money is added to top off the plan. Remaining funds on this plan at the end of the fall semester will roll over to the spring. Unlike the Lite and Basic plans, this plan will also roll over the summer with the purchase of another Premier or Premier Plus Plan for the following fall semester if the student had a Premier or Premier Plus Plan in the spring. Refunds are not issued for unused dining dollars.

Premier Plus Plan - $2,630*

PLUS an extra $100 sign-on bonus! For hearty appetites and students who plan to be on campus a majority of the weekends. 

This plan entitles students to a 20% bonus when additional money is added to top off the plan. Remaining funds on this plan at the end of the fall semester will roll over to the spring. Unlike the Lite and Basic plans, this plan will also roll over the summer with the purchase of another Premier or Premier Plus Plan for the following fall semester if the student had a Premier or Premier Plus Plan in the spring. Refunds are not issued for unused dining dollars.

When is your Dining Plan Active?

  • Spring Semester: Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 - Sunday, May 10, 2015
  • Fall Semester: Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015 - Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015
  • Dining plans will remain active over Spring Break, however dining hours will be limited during this time.

Dining Plan Spending Matrix

Please note that you can add money to your Dining Plan during the semester at www.kent.edu/flashcard with a Visa® or Mastercard®. You may also change the type of Dining Plan between semesters. All Dining Plans are paid for by semester.

All Dining contracts are for one Academic Year and roll over from Fall to the following Spring semester. Only the Premier and Premier Plus plans, with the purchase of another Premier or Premier Plus plan, roll over from Spring to Fall Semester. The Dining Dollars left in the Lite and Basic Plans at the end of the semester will revert back to the University.
